Tamales Are The Ideal Comfort Food

After a long day at the job and sitting in traffic for hours, it feels good to come home to a hot meal. The problem is that most people in this situation feel up to cooking. It seems no matter how hard food manufacturers try to make frozen meals taste good, sometimes this is not enough or are too high in sodium to eat regularly. Foods that are fast but filling, like prepared tamales, are the perfect food that is truly satisfying.

This is the type of dish that is sold at restaurants or catering delivery companies in bulk. The reason why no one makes a single tamale is that they take time to assemble and prepare. While some home cooks may attempt to take shortcuts, the taste is not the same and is sometimes a recipe fail.

Buying these premade also saves on having to cook at home and wonder if something will come out right. When a person has a good cook on their side who can prepare heat and eat meals for groups, this is better than relying on the supermarket hot deli department. Caters and restaurants can also offer different varieties, including a meatless option.

Although informal office parties can be fun, they can also be a turning point in a career. Bringing a delectable dish and engaging in positive conversation with the right people can lead to big things. It is very easy to get so caught up in daily operations and technology that people often forget to do things like socializing and go after their true professional aspirations.

After taking a nice steam bath, a nice meal comes together. While this all sounds simple, some consider making a real tamale a work of art, if not a labor intensive session in the kitchen. Either way, it is not ideal for those who do not already love to cook or do not have the energy after working all day.

While taking shortcuts is not recommended, the varieties out there are worth trying. Modern cooks that specialize in Mexican cuisine experiment with masa flour made from blue, yellow, and even red corn with success. Fillings can range from fruit to pepper steak but if a person is buying for a large group, chicken and a vegetarian option are great choices, as flavors may be a little milder.

For a complete meal, rice or refried beans can be warmed up while the entree is being plated. If canned or dried products are not ideal, a quick yet healthy side dish may be the answer. Just warm up instant or brown rice and top with favorite salsa or pico de gallo. Canned and rinsed beans may be added for extra sustenance.

One great thing about most Mexican dishes is that they can be slightly altered for health purposes, as some traditional recipes use generous amounts of animal or saturated fats. The other is that quick fixes at home are much better than indulging in fast food. Have with a side of rice and salsa or a bowl of bean chili for something different. Not only are these meals healthier but costs a lot less than dining out regularly.
