How To Be Like Steve Cooper

By Anna Richardson

Becoming this kind of manager will not put you on an easy road. There are a lot of skills to be acquired and this article is a testament to that. So, work on your way to shaping your own career and becoming a lighthouse to all the students who need this sport to put some value into their being. Be the kind of teacher that only a few will forget.

You need to know the technicalities of the game. Just like Steve Cooper, polish raw talent by introducing the sport to these aspiring athletes. However, you have to be able to take it slow on them. Do not pressure them too much into fitting the mode since you already have star players and your students need to want this as bad as them.

Teach them how greater things can be achieved by determination. If they fail to make that score this time, have the right technique to push them to try harder. Your students have a unique way of honing their craft. So, it would be up to you to know them more as a person and start treating them as your own.

Giving up on your most troubled students can be a crime. Do not waste potential once you see it. Remember that you have vowed to be a scout manager for the institution. These teenagers just need a drastic change of perspective and it is up to you to use a strategy that works. Extra school credits might do the trick.

Always treat the students personally. They are not mere pawns to a game. Besides, when you all know each other intimately, you shall be looking out for each other out there. So, have dine outs during your salary. Give them the feeling that this is their second home and the least they can do is help win a match.

Have patience. Teenagers would always have all sorts of distraction around them. When they start missing practices, figure out where they are. As you can see, this profession is a way of life. Once you decide to manage a team, you should be able to do everything to keep it from falling apart and treat all of your players fairly.

Discipline must be written in everything you do as a manager. With that kind of life, you will be prouder of the kind of person you have become. Some vices may be allowed but do them in a private setting.

Just be a good manager. Acknowledge the fact that you are all humans in the team. Provide days without practice and these youngsters would keep coming back for more.

Personally love the sport. You would never be able to teach something which you are not passionate about. So, enrich the knowledge which you already have. Continue to travel all over the world for those seminars. Have better strategies to teach when you get back and be proud of your accomplishments.
